The history of the viticulture of the family LEITZ from Rüdesheim goes back to the year 1744. Josef LEITZ, the father of the present owner, rebuilt the totally destroyed vineyards after the second world war.
His son Johannes took over the vineyard in 1985 and built it to a considerable size of today 40 ha best locations. Today, the LEITZ vineyard is one of the most successful winegrowers in the world. The vineyards in the Middle Rhine Valley are part of the World Cultural Heritage and Johannes LEITZ is active for the preservation and re-cultivation-old cultural landscape.
