At winery SELBACH OSTER we can trace wine-growing back to the year 1600.
More than 50% of SELBACH OSTER vineyards are still planted with very old vines, yielding very concentrated fruit from small berries. The wine making philosophy is to make elegant, crisp, low-alcohol but full flavoured Riesling wines with the Moselle characteristically taste.
Excellent vineyards, very selective handpicking, gently pressed grapes at low pressure and a professional wine cellar management are the 'Secrets' , that SELBACH OSTER ranked among the top ten Moselle wineries. The wines are highly scored by Wine Advokat / Robert Parker, Wine Spectator, etc.
The family takes great pride in making very fine, handcrafted wines from excellent quality in every bottle, every vintage.
